My Secret to having a Personal Trainer at the Gym Every Time
Portable Workout Coach!
I read recently that 47% of women would hire a personal trainer if money were no object, and thus was inspired to share my little motivation secret.
I completely understand this and would have one with me everyday if that were an option (and it is), who wouldn’t want someone rooting for you, motivating you along the way. As far as fitness, I did use a personaltrainer for a long time but was not getting that much better of a workout than I would have if I went to the gym without him. It was about accountability, and the best way to do that on the cheap is to talk to a friend who works out or may need the accountability as well. This does not mean that you have to workout together but you know that someone will notice if you don’t show up. I signed up for a gym membership that I can bring someone with me for free every time that I go and my friend didn’t have the membership so I couldn’t just skip the gym or I would be letting her down as well.
So that is step one – showing up for your workout. But many people, myself included, need to be pushed to run faster, do one more crunch etc. I found that although I could do the workout without my trainer, boredom and laziness set in.
Rather than scheduling a trainer every week, or multiple times a week because I didn’t want to pay someone to push me everyday, I found iTrain. I put these mp3 workouts on my iPod and it is like having a little trainer pushing me just a bit further than I would have myself. And because I can download different workouts, I never get bored or feel like going to the gym is the same workout every time.
Although I own about 20 iTrain workouts now, I have a few favorites. My favorite ones so far are iTREAD Set12 (Walking, jogging or running), Set21 (Walk Intervals), iTRI 29 (Reverse Circuit Training – treadmill, eliptical & bike) and the iSCULPT Traditional Circuit Set22. I have the monthly subscription, but am thinking about switching to the annual, so that I can try them all. Those are the types of exercises I enjoy, but they also have boxing, pilates, yoga, swimming, hip-hop dance, and even a few routines targeted towards motivating teenagers.
I have attached a coupon I received a couple months ago when I started, hopefully it still works.
